First performance of our collabo formation (Draggan & Hit By A Blimp, together known as E951) is happening this coming thursday night @Jazzcafe De Spieghel, in Groningen...so if you're in the area, come on by and check it out, it's gonna be rocking! It'll be a short performance in a line of others, organized by Fifteen Minutes, so obviously each band will play for 15 minutes...we'll be posting up the footage on youtube after, but if you're in town you can see it live, entry is free so there's no excuse not to come ;)

Wow, it's a been way too long since our last post. Anyway we just wanted to let you know that we've been rehearsing with funk/rock band Hit By a Blimp. This turned out to be a good idea, so good we decided to create a new band called 'E951'. We're planning to make some banging tracks together and do a couple of gigs in the near future. I'm watching this thing right now, and the trailer doesn't do it justice, this is a must watch! So goddamn infuriating...now I'm not much for capitalism, I'm already with the choir on this, but the part about companies taking out life insurance on their employees, and so effectively betting on their employees to die so they can make a profit...it's just...I was in a bad mood already, but now I feel like blowing something up for real..just watch it for yourselves, and forget about your opinion of Moore for a while, just see if it doesn't piss you off to the point of violence...and if it doesn't, you should be shot in the fucking face!

ok, it's been a long time since any of us posted anything, and this one's very important as well.../sarcasm
ok, so iPad, what still? yeah, well....whatever, there's something disturbing about the whole thing to me, now...I'm not an apple user. Cause I'm poor. I don't have an iAnything. Regular cellphone (takes shitty pictures) regular cheapo pc at home, so...I'm no techspert. But still, I've been trying to figure out what the big deal is with this iPad thing. So it's by apple, Steve is making a stink about it, everybody's waiting for it....then....wtf is that? it's way too big for a phone and way too limited for a computer, and it's not cheap, of course not, the i's for iCantaffordthatshithomie. So anyway, apparently it browses really nice....well, ok, so now my email looks really cool, it's hundreds of bucks? ok, so to me, it's completely useless, I can't see anybody really improving their lives with this thing, but it's by Steve, it has an i in front of it, so it will sell, we all know that, and that's fine...I guess...but what bothers me is that there's this big stink about the name, iPad. Because apparently, people have feminine hygiene products on their minds, WOW! This just made me wanna move to Mars...you can not be serious! Really? Not thinking of writing pads (which it kinda is) but straightaway to the bandage thing, and even then what? Why the fuck should that be so intolerable? I could see it if it was the iDildo or something, that's nasty, I get it....but damn, you can't take the word 'pad' anymore? That's retarded. And if it was just some 12 year old boys raising this issue amongst themselves with a lot of cheap laughs, that would be fine, expected, normal... but damn...this is just....fuck you people, I'm leaving....

been a while

ok, it's been a while since the last post, call it summer vacation :p ok so been pretty busy, working on albums, videos, and mostly trying to keep our company and our work alive and moving up, not so easy...anyway, we've got a tiny show this weekend, will record and upload if it's any good...gotta say Ramadan slowed us (especially me) down a bit, it's starts out fine but toward the end I do start to feel it, anyway, that's almost done, so I'll be able to drink coffee all day again, which dramatically improves my work ethic, hehehe...so there will be some free stuff soon and a couple of albums after that...I'll list some collaboration projects soon too, so you can check up on those...guess that's it for now..PEACE!

Damn, damn, damn. Most of you know by now Michael Jackson has passed away. All Draggan members grew up on Mikey's music and we're all huge fans. So many of his tracks inspired us and we would be a completely different band if it wasn't for Michael Jackson. It makes me sad to think that Michael wasn't given the opportunity to peacefully part with this world. I wish could have retired and lived on some island where nobody would be bothering him for the rest of his days.

You left us with a tremendous amount of good music which will never die and will inspire many generations to come. Draggan salutes you! Rest in peace.

My heart goes out to his family, especially his three children.

I wanted to share one of my favourite hiphop documentaries: Rhyme & Reason. The documentary is set in the mid-nineties, hiphop was growing rapidly and was about to enter the mainstream. The video is described as: "This movie came out on the tail end of the Hip Hop Golden era". This movie covers many aspects of the hiphop culture such as: DJ-ing, breakdancing and MC-ing. Many hiphop-legends share their views like: KRS-One, Chuck D, Heavy D, Ice-T and Dr. Dre. There's a segment in it about the 'Jack the Rapper' festival where many hiphopartists come together to network, talk, discuss, party and smoke weed. It's my favourite part cause for some reason I feel this is no longer possible this day in age. I mean if I watch the 'Beef' docu's 1 through 4, I see two nobodies without skills nagging, bitching and acting tough to each other. Their sole qualification to be part of hiphop is the fact that they have...beef. Who doesn't? Get over it and get back to or start making some...music.

Slaughtering Hip Hop

Listen up!

Here are some tracks from Slaughterhouse. Slaghterhouse is a collabo between Joe Budden, Royce Da 59, Joell Ortiz and Crooked I. They had a single called 'Move On' which sparked my interest because I hardly hear lyricism lately. I'm getting really sick listening to a 3 minute track consisting of a minimalistic beat (lacking rhythm), maybe two 16 bar verses (if your lucky), and some chick who can't sing or a different moron who also can't rap repeating the one-line chorus about a 1000 times. People, people, I don't have to like every hiphop track but at least put some effort in it. It's pathetic how many piles of horseshit you have to go thru before you find a decent hiphop-act. It's like Chris Rock said I wanna be able to 'break down intellectually' why I love hiphop. So I'm glad to hear these tracks from Slaughterhouse, their self-titled debut album will be released on July 7th.

School Paper

It's been some time since the last post so I thought I'd let you know what i was up to....

I'm putting the finishing touches on my final school paper and if I pass I am finally done with school and can focus all my attention on this Draggan thing, yeah! The good thing is, I'm making a business plan to release all this Draggan shit we've been talking about. I'm trying to submit it at the end of this month and I should be a graduate of 'Small Business and Retail Management'. I'm just hoping my teacher will agree with my ideas and plans so I can put them to work. I'm getting pretty tired from all the planning and calculating and what not and it's been far too long for my taste since i had time to make some hiphop. But don't worry, we'll be coming and you'll see us in 2009!!!!

That's all I have for now, I'll let you know how it goes....

Draggan releases 2009

ok, since people have been asking, here's a prognosis for Draggan releases in 2009:

Draggan group album (working title: Entertain the Thought) - will be an English language rap album featuring all Draggan members (Kryptik, Magnum and Titan) on production and raps. It will have a variety of styles and some crazy production on it, so keep checking back here for the release.

Kryptik's second solo album (working title: Bangkit) - will be an Indonesian rap album with features from some of the best Southeast Asian raptalent (HQA from The Rebel Scum, Batik Tribe, Jin Hackman and Fish, just to name a few) and production by all Draggan members. It will be outrageous, stacked and "Lepas" will be on it! ;)

We have some other stuff planned, such as freebees, videos and so on, but we'll let you know about those along the way, so keep checking up on us...

Oldskool please

ok, little bit on a little subject in hiphop, you've heard this...all sorts of young heads walking around without sufficient hiphop knowledge and their mouths open, calling everything old "oldschool" (that's right, usually not even oldskool)...now, in many cases they're not talking about Bizzee Bee, Biz Markie, Slick Rick or any of the real oldskool peeps...when they say oldschool they mean KRS-ONE, Public Enemy, even Das EFX and Smoothe tha Hustler (if they've even heard of them), basically, anything that came out before their time, which as time advances is becoming an increasing amount of artists...in five years' time they will be calling Biggie oldschool if this trend continues, can you imagine?
Anyway, my favorite period in hiphop is called new school (late 80's, early 90's), that's when I listened to a lot of hiphop music and when I started writing...coincidentally (;P) I think hiphop has never gotten any better than it was back then, so for the love of good music, here's another oldie...it's not really a video, but that shouldn't matter unless you're a spoiled little bitch, so just enjoy, peace!

yes yes yes....if you're dutch and you love hiphop (and are over 20) you've probably heard of this hiphop radio show called villa65/dutch masters on vpro/radio 3. It used to broadcast for two hours each week, and being a no-tv-watching person I listened to it for years, recording the show and playing the tape for the rest of the week until the new show a week later. So, this was pretty much the only real hiphop source over here since Yo! MTV raps was cancelled, and recently Magnum has found a .torrent containing a shitload of shows from '94-'98, wonderful! So I'm playing this stuff and remembering back in the days when hiphop was still worth listening to, before all this faggoty crunk shit. So anyway, I'm gonna share some old goodies by finding some of 'em on youtube and posting 'em up regularly in the coming weeks/months...if I'd do all at once it would just be one long post and we can't have that, naturally, so here's a nice one....
